Picture_5 Hobnox, creators of Audiotool, the free online music studio we highlighted back in May, lets us know that they’re planning to release a new version of that software around the middle of September, "or after the release of Flash 10 at the latest," which will allow audio recording through Flash, among other things.

We’ll keep you posted on that front; in the meantime, check out Hobnox’s new video section, which showcases live music performances and interviews from bands that have presumably toured Germany. Some of the videos are in German, but most of what’s available in the Sly-Fi music section is in English.

The video channel is part of the site’s aggressive plans to expand. In addition to AudioTool and the browser-based webcasting app LiveTool, Hobnox says it will also launch a user community to enable users to check out each others’ songs and watch each others’ live shows. To spur community involvement, the company is offering three $30,000 prizes for music, film and culture projects that is currently in the qualifying stages.

From the site’s Sly-Fi music channel, here’s a live performance from Les Savy Fav, followed by an interview with the band.
