Joe Jonas seemingly denounced the many rumors swirling around about his impending divorce from Sophie Turner and urged fans not to believe everything they hear.

During a Jonas Brothers concert on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Joe, 34, took a moment to briefly address the onslaught of hate he's received since news of his separation from Turner, 27, was announced. Fan footage from the concert showed Joe telling the audience that it's been a “tough week."

“I just want to say, if you don't hear it from these lips, don't believe it, okay?” Joe said to the cheering crowd. “Thank you everyone for the love and support. Me and my family love you guys.”

The speech came before the band sang their song, “Hesitate,” which Joe has said he wrote about Turner. During the performance, Joe made a slight tweak to the lyrics — from “Don’t be scared ’cause I’m on your side” to “Don’t be scared ’cause I’m on her side.” Joe then became visibly upset while singing the emotional song.

Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Sophie Turner on September 5 after four years of marriage and two kids together. The pair shared a joint statement together the following day, confirming their split, adding that they “mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.”

“There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” the statement continued.

The shocking split came just a few weeks after Turner posted a sweet photo of the couple walking hand-in-hand as they walked out of Yankee Stadium following the Jonas Brothers' two-night engagement at the iconic venue.

Since their split, endless stories and speculation have emerged from gossip blogs and other online forums that largely accuse Joe Jonas of trying to paint Sophie Turner as an inattentive mother and partner. Many people have begun to side with Turner in the wake of the rumors, and have placed Joe as the bad guy. But with his recent speech, Joe appears to shut down those stories.

The singer and former Game of Thrones star first connected via Instagram DM in 2016, were engaged in 2017, and wed in 2019 with two wedding ceremonies in Las Vegas and France. The couple shares two young children: daughter Willa, born in 2020, and another baby girl they welcomed in July 2022.
