Shin-chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro Will Arrive on Switch this Winter

The Japanese edition of September 2023 Nintendo Direct revealed a new Crayon Shin-chan game will be released on the Switch. The game will be known in Japanese as Crayon Shin-chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro. We can translate the subtitle to Shiro of the Charcoal Town.

Shin-chan’s pet dog Shiro will be the key character in this game, as it will lead its master to ride a mysterious train that stops in a steampunk-themed coal mine town. The game will then task the player to guide Shin-chan in navigating the town and help its facility owners improve their businesses while carefully monitoring a suspicious group plotting around the town.

Shin-chan will also be able to return to his family who are staying in the village near his father’s hometown during the adventure. He can also do activities like fishing and bug-catching in the village.

Nintendo has extracted the reveal segment of Crayon Shin-Chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro from the Direct and placed it in its own video, available right below.

Sumi no Machi no Shiro will be the second Crayon Shin-Chan game to come from Neos. It had previously released Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation. Although initially revealed exclusively in Japan, it eventually released the game worldwide for not only Switch but also PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.

Crayon Shin-chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro will be available for Nintendo Switch in the Winter 2023 window, which falls between December 2023 and February 2024.
