Sandra c I don't watch TV. I'm not into wasting my time just seating down watching a bunch of bs propaganda, until Vida. What an amazing piece of art. I wish more shows had this level of artistry. Vida is the perfect mix between Latinx and Gringo culture. Between gender roles, and the desire to break them. It was so fun to watch and it made you think afterwards. Shame on you Starz for not bringing this back. I hope Netflix catches up and gives Vida the support they need to continue making episodes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/24/22 Full Review mike l This show has very poor writing and direction. A lot of the character's decisions make no sense at all, and most of them are unlikable. There is also some weird tone shifts right in the middle of certain scenes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Bogdan M One of the best series I've seen! Every second in this show is perfect. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/10/21 Full Review Dalia A I am hooked! What a great show. I am very much enjoying the story line, the actors and especially the authentic Latino lives they are portraying. Love to hear and see the Latino references and traditions. Writing is so creative. I had never heard the word "whitetina" and when one of the actors said she was functioning on "chingona" level. LOL. So funny. Keep it up. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/15/20 Full Review Audience Member It was a great season but the season finale ended too abruptly. This show and it's fans deserve a better finale than we got. Starz should do something about it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A really great show about two sisters in downtown L.A. navigating family traumas, Chicano politics, and LGBT issues. Done with humor and flair. The leads are great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Judy Berman TIME Magazine These are a lot of heavy themes to squeeze into the six-episode first season of a half-hour drama, but Vida tackles each one gracefully within a story of two sisters who reunite after the death of their mother. Jan 2, 2019 Full Review Eric Deggans NPR Couching a familiar story in an authentic, specific experience helps create transformative, groundbreaking television. And Vida delivers. Dec 17, 2018 Full Review Allison Shoemaker Consequence There's a lot more tucked inside Vida than the story of the Hernandez sisters, but that story is plenty gripping all on its own, and the performances are exceptional. Dec 15, 2018 Full Review Brian T. Carney Washington Blade Passionate, stylish and intelligent, the series offers powerful representations of Latinx culture and a rich celebration of complex Latinx women. Dec 7, 2022 Full Review Michael Cuby them. Poignant, funny, and refreshingly frank in its depiction of the myriad queer identities that exist, Vida is a true gift — and its first season is, obviously, a great place to start. Oct 3, 2022 Full Review Linnete Manrique PopMatters In addition to being an entertaining television show, Vida is a political act, that challenges stereotypes and humanizes the lives of Mexican-Americans and Latinx people.
