Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner announced their engagement in 2017, after they'd been dating for around a year. The Jo Bro and the Game of Thrones star have kept their relationship pretty private, but the couple shocked everyone when they got married in a surprise ceremony in May 2019.

In June 2019, the couple got married a second time in southern France, and the ceremony was much more formal than their Vegas wedding. July 2020 saw the couple welcome their first child, and fans are now hankering for more info on the super private celebrity couple—here's what to know about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's relationship.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner met on social media.

As Turner told Harper's Bazaar UK, the couple met in a way that plenty of people can relate to.

"We had a lot of mutual friends and they’d been trying to introduce us for a long time," she said. "We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue."

Jonas and Turner's relationship went public in 2016...

While Jonas was on tour with his band DNCE in late 2016, Turner was often spotted with the singer. In January 2017, the couple became Instagram official when Turner posted a photo of Jonas on a boat in Miami.

...but still, they kept things very quiet.

While Jonas and Turner were frequently photographed together on the street, in the beginning of their relationship they never walked a red carpet together, and they kept mum about their love life during interviews.

In August of 2017, Turner did mention that she was "very happy" to Marie Claire UK. She also lamented the media attention that their relationship caused. "You do feel like you’re living in a fishbowl… It’s frustrating [that] it’s the most mundane things that make the news – how boring! There are really no other headlines?"

Jonas and Turner announced they were engaged in October 2017.

The couple announced their engagement on Instagram with matching photos, and they celebrated with an engagement party in November.

In December of that same year, Jonas called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" and the host congratulated him on the engagement.

"It’s incredible. I’m very happy," he simply said.

In July 2018, Jonas and Turner got some tattoos together.

While the pair's tattoos weren't matching, the tats they both got were in honor of their respective grandfathers. Turner's is a simple "G," while Jonas' is a portrait of his grandad.

October 2018 saw Jonas in a very appropriate Halloween costume.

Jonas dressed up as Turner's GoT character Sansa Stark, complete with red wig. Turner went as an elephant.

The couple also dressed up as Morticia & Gomez Addams for another Halloween party.

In December 2018, Jonas and Turner attended Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's wedding.

The couple attended Jonas and Chopra's five-day wedding celebration in India, and Turner even served as bridesmaid for her future sister-in-law.

In March of 2019, Turner revealed that Game of Thrones had caused some friction with Jonas.

"I’ve just told Joe [about the series finale]. But he’s so mad at me—he loves the show! Well, I have to tell someone, otherwise I’ll burst," she told Glamour UK.

In April, Turner told Good Morning America that Jonas actually had to sign an NDA because he knew so much about the show. "Actually, he was on set for most of it, so he kind of figured it out, and then he had to sign an NDA," she said. "He had to have full photo approval on set, his camera was covered up, everything."

Turner and Jonas' age difference isn't a problem for them.

The notoriously-private Turner also opened up to Glamour UK about other aspects of her relationship with Jonas.

"A lot of [my happiness now] is to do with being with a person I’ve fallen in love with, who loves me more than he loves himself, and who wants to see me find my own happiness. That was probably the biggest thing that pushed me to find who I am—and find my happiness in things other than acting."

Turner and Jonas got engaged at 21 and 28 respectively, and Turner told Rolling Stone that her age wasn't an issue for the couple. "I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know. I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know. I’ve met enough guys to know—I’ve met enough girls to know. I don’t feel 22. I feel like 27, 28."

Not surprisingly, Jonas and Turner's wedding is going to be "low-key."

The couple has been engaged since 2017, but the wedding planning has only recently started to ramp up. The nuptials will take place in France in the summertime, and Turner's Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams will serve as one of her bridesmaids. There haven't been many other public details about the wedding, but Jonas has been a bit chattier about the upcoming wedding than Turner. During an appearance on The Late Late Show Jonas said that he'll "stick to one" wedding, unlike younger brother Nick.

The brothers also made an appearance on the Zach Sang Show, where Jonas said that "a lot of Coors Light is necessary" at the wedding. Nick added, "We learned a lesson from my wedding. Our friends drink a lot of beer, specifically, and we ran out of beer at the wedding, at my wedding, which was a big issue."

Apparently, things "get very dark very fast with hard alcohol instead," according to big brother Kevin. "It’s just like ‘Oh, we’re doing this now? Okay.’"

Turner told Harper’s Bazaar UK that the wedding will be on the smaller side."We’re trying to keep it as low-key as possible so it’s more of an intimate thing," she said. She also told Extra: "Wedding planners are key—that means you don’t have to do anything."

Jonas and Turner shocked everyone when they got married in Las Vegas in May 2019.

The couple got married after Jonas performed at the Billboard Music Awards with his brothers, but no one knew what was going on until Diplo began live-streaming the ceremony on his Instagram.

The wedding was officiated by an Elvis impersonator, and Jonas and Turner exchanged Rings Pops instead of jewelry.

Jonas and Turner had their second wedding ceremony in France in June 2019.

The couple got married for a second time in the south of France, and celebrity guests included Ashley Graham, Diplo (who was DJ at the afterparty), and Turner's former GoT costar Maisie Williams, who was maid of honor. If you're interested, you can actually rent the chateau where Jonas and Turner held most of their wedding festivities.

Prior to the French wedding, Jonas revealed details of his bachelor party on The Tonight Show. "I’m pretty sure we got the cops called on us three times," he laughed.

Turner and Jonas welcomed their first child in July 2020.

While the couple never officially confirmed the news that they were expecting, it was reported that Turner was pregnant in February 2019. Because Turner's pregnancy coincided with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the duo was frequently spotted talking safe and socially distant walks with their dogs, although they still remained mum on the baby news.

On July 22, Turner and Jonas welcomed a baby girl named Willa in Los Angeles, and their reps confirmed the news to People: "Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are delighted to announce the birth of their baby."
