Theresa Culver, Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) Supervisor has worked at HCA Florida Largo Hospital for 10 years. Meet Debra and Steven Brodnick, mother and son duo who work in the surgical services department at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. Debra recently celebrated her 45th work anniversary and continues to share her joyful spirit each day she comes to work. “When an opportunity came available for Steven to join the Largo Hospital team, I was thrilled! It gives us the opportunity to see each other outside our home environment and connect for lunch break some days. Fran Godfrey has been a volunteer at HCA Florida Largo Hospital for 12 years. When her daughter Jamie Prior moved to Florida in 2021, she decided to join her mother as a volunteer to spend more time together. Jamie is no stranger to healthcare, she spent more than 20 years as a respiratory therapist (RT) before she took time off to raise babies of her own. “After about four months of volunteering, I quickly realized that I truly missed being in the healthcare field. I renewed my RT license and joined the hospital team as an employee. When Mirasol started working as a nurse at HCA Florida Largo Hospital seventeen years ago, Rachel was just 2 years old. She grew up seeing her mother work hard as a nurse and one day decided she wanted to follow in her footsteps. In April 2024, Rachel joined the hospital team as a nurse extern and is excited about her future in nursing. “My mother has always been my role model and inspiration for who I strive to become. She’s taught me the importance of respect, compassion, and humility. As a young boy, Matthew Freeman started coming to HCA Florida Largo Hospital with his mom, Linda Schoeppl, intensive care unit nurse. Linda has been a nurse here for 38 years and when it was time for Matthew to choose his workplace, it was the natural choice. “Working with my mom at HCA Largo is a blessing! Both of us being nurses allows us to share a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of healthcare. Choosing to work at the same hospital allows us to support each other professionally and personally, making our workplace feel like a second home.
