Except in the case of Mandy Moore's latest red carpet look. On Thursday, the actress wore the equivalent of a fashion unicorn to the season 2 premiere of Peacock's Dr. Death, in which she plays NBC News producer Benita Alexander, at West Hollywood's Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. For the occasion, Mandy wore a sleeveless black Donna Karan column gown with a slit in the back and sheer panels of fabric on each side of her waist. In light of the dress's sexy elements, it also packed a practical punch with hidden pockets that Mandy was sure to show off while striking a range of poses on the step-and-repeat. Getty She accessorized her evening ensemble with a trio of gold bangles on one wrist and a pair of black slingback sandals. Her brunette hair was pulled back into an ultra-sleek bun with a middle part, and she finished off her glam with a bold red lip and subtly smoky eyes. Mandy Moore’s Velvet Dress and Suede Boots Combo Is Fully Fall Mandy started filming Dr. Death just six weeks after giving birth to her second child, Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett, and at the premiere, the This Is Us star, who is also a mom to son August "Gus" Harrison, opened up about her children during an interview with People. "He's about to start walking,” Mandy said of Ozzie. “He just turned a year. So it's like the holidays take on new meaning." As for Gus? "He's loving being a big brother and he is loving the holidays,” she explained, adding: "Now, he's aware [of Christmas] in a way that he wasn't until this year, like last year, he was just sort of starting to grasp Christmas trees, but now he understands the concept of Santa and all of that it's so much more exciting."
