After 50 HRS Final Fantasy 13 has concluded. It's a flawed, but fun game. I love the Paradigm system which really drove me to keep playing when the story and level design lacked. I will need to do a refresher video on the story as I have to admit it lost me after the midway point. The final chapter or two did get frustrating with the strength and number of enemies, but I should have grinded chapter 11 more, perhaps that would have helped. I accidentally went the right way in that chapter when I thought I was on a side tangent and inadvertently missed most of the open world section. The level design other than the aforementioned chapter was a corridor grind design. If the levels would have been a little more expansive maybe it wouldn't have felt so claustrophobic. The graphics though even all these years later are incredible. Overall I loved the combat and graphics while the story and level design were a bit lacking. I will eventually get to 13-2, but for now it's finally on to Rebirth for me.
Not a bad game by any means, but a far cry from the previous entries' levels of quality. Bland characters, painfully linear gameplay (you'll literally spend hours just walking through battle corridors) and a weak storyline make it really hard to appreciate the fast paced and intense combat system, nice soundtrack and the absolutely gorgeous graphics that could easily pass as a following gen's title and are still impressive after ten years of its release.
