Has Chris Pine found himself on a new plane? He’s got a few new COVID-era projects making their way out into the world. He’s recently gone through a breakup. He’s taken up ballet. All the while, he’s grown out a very Grooming Gods-core salt-and-pepper beard, and has been wearing the sort of outfits that make Twitter wonder: “...have you all seen Chris Pine lately?”
We’ve rounded up some of his biggest fits as of late, so you can see for yourself.
Maybe it all began here, with a simple stroll around Los Angeles back in November—double denim, cuffs rolled just right, an uncomplicated loafer. This is the look of someone who’s just getting started.
Fast forward a few months and we've got a prime example of what is commonly referred to as “the Equinox look,” which Pine’s spruced up with some weirdo clogs. Inspired!
Hollywood is back in the red carpet swing of things, and so too is Pine, seen here at the premiere of his latest film, All The Old Knives. Lately on the event circuit, he’s been working with sister stylist duo Wendi and Nicole Ferreira (who have also been dressing Seth Rogen in some very vibe-y menswear), who decked him out in this creamy Sandro linen suit. “This is my Gregg Allman look,” he told Entertainment Tonight that evening. “My publicist said I look like a Bee Gee, but I prefer Gregg Allman.”
Baby blues, times two—Pine kicks off his jam-packed Oscars weekend. (Plus, R.I.P. to his Kris Kristofferson beard: “It’s sad. It took like six months, but now I have to shave it off,” he told Variety earlier in March.)
The next night, he stepped out in a louche kimono suit from Dzojchen, the newfangled red-carpet power player that got its start producing handmade Japanese denim.
Pine went classic in a Giorgio Armani tux for Elton John’s annual Academy Awards viewing party, though the horseshoe waistcoat (low-key a favorite style of his) adds a little intrigue.
Cut to a few hours later. There were only a few net-positive takeaways from the 2022 Oscars, and Pine’s red Etro suit was one of them.
To top it all off, our guy wore double Bode (with a navy Gucci loafer!) on Jimmy Kimmel this week. Has he been listening to the menswear podcasts?
