The new Archos Multimedia Jukebox 20 comes with a color screen right on the front, so it can display photographs and play video clips in the MPEG-4 format.

Jukebox plus

The Archos Jukebox FM Recorder 20 (www.archos.com) is billed as the first product to combine an MP3 player, recorder and FM radio that contains a 20-gigabyte hard disk.

The Jukebox can record an amazing 300 hours of CD-quality MP3 music or up to 700 hours of voice recording. Any sound can be recorded via the Jukebox's built-in microphone or plug in an external mike into the unit's input jack.

The Jukebox also has a built-in FM tuner so that you can listen to any station in the area. If you like something you hear, the Jukebox will let you record the FM sounds directly and instantly convert it into an audio MP3 file.

Out-of-sight bike alarm

About 1.5 million bicycles are stolen each year, and only about 20 percent of those are recovered and returned to their original owners. A California company, Factory Enhancements Corp., has introduced a motion-sensor alarm system that might help keep your bike from joining the missing.

The Cy-Curity bike alarm system includes a motion-sensitive detector that is attached, out of sight, under the bike seat and a remote control unit on a key fob.

To use the system, you lock up your bike as you normally do and step away. Using a button on the key-fob remote control, you activate the alarm under the seat from up to 100 feet away. Now if anyone jostles the bike, a piercing alarm sounds.

The alarm unit is a black plastic rectangular box about 3 inches long. It attaches to the underside of a standard bicycle seat with plastic straps that come with the unit. If it doesn't fit under the seat, it can be attached on a bar of the frame or elsewhere. The alarm is powered by three AAA batteries and weighs just 3 ounces.

The Cy-Curity Bicycle Alarm sells for $49.95 plus shipping and handling. It can be ordered by calling (800) 971-0778, or from the Factory Enhancement Corp. Web site at www.cy-curity.com.

Organize your pictures

If your digital photos are in files scattered around your hard drive like so many virtual shoe boxes, Adobe has software to help: Photoshop Album, a tool for organizing, editing, sharing and printing digital images.

This Windows-based program scans a hard drive for images, which it imports to a virtual album. Drag-and-drop labels like Places can be added to photos along with customized subheadings like Ski Lodge, with dates and names. Numerous labels can be attached for cross-referencing.

Information about Photoshop Album, which sells for $50, is at www.adobe.com.
