Frank came to the United States in 1882 at 14 or 15 years old. He returned to Podhorany (Chek Republic) and married Miss Karolina Vojacek in her village in 1892, bringing her to America around 1895. Together they had nine children. Their youngest, a daughter they named Eliska "Elsie" was murdered and her killer was never brought to justice.
