Call of Duty franchise is finding it difficult to keep the community hooked these days. Despite selling well, its ongoing installment, MWII, has a steam rating of just 6/10.

Seems like this year’s Modern Warfare III could switch things up for the franchise. One key speculation that’s been making rounds on the internet regarding CoD 2023 is that it might bring back the good old days of the franchise. To be precise, it’s rumored to add classic elements for nostalgia lovers. And newly leaked intel suggests such speculations may very well be true. How?

Every map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be remastered from Modern Warfare 2

A trusted insider has recently shared tons of updates on MWIII. Among them is also one based on the map set the upcoming title will have. Going by this scooper’s claim, it looks like every map in CoD 2023 will be a remastered map. Interestingly, the remastered maps are said to be taken from 2009’s blockbuster Modern Warfare 2.

X user el_bobberto, who has rapidly gained a lot of recognition, recently posted a major piece of information. He wrote that “every MWIII launch map is a remastered MW2 (2009) map”.

In case the aforementioned leak turns out to be legitimate, fans should expect multiple maps to come back. Of course, they will have a revamped design with better texture and presentation. Below is a list of all the expected maps for Modern Warfare III’s launch set:

As for the release of Modern Warfare III, Activision has already revealed the date to be November 10. However, before it makes a debut, the title will also receive an open beta phase. Here’s an expected schedule for the Beta weekends and then the final, global launch:

  • Second Beta weekend (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC): October 12 to October 16

  • Complete Release (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC): November 10
