Staples Center, Los Angeles, USA

This ultramodern sports arena holds up to 22,000 spectators and will host two excellent teams: the Los Angeles Kings (ice hockey) and the L.A. Lakers (basketball).

The shear walls reach a maximum height of 37 m. For the loading zones in the lower level a larger column spacing was necessary so the lower level slab was post-tensioned with DYWIDAG Multistrand Tendons type MA 19 and 27-0.6" to reduce plate bending.

The flat slab post-tensioning of the upper levels was done using unbonded DYWIDAG Monostrand Tendons 0.5".
