Michelle Rodriguez had a surprisingly sweet reason for joining the cast of Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.
The actress began her career playing a troubled boxer in the independent sports film Girlfight, before going on to star as Letty Ortiz in the Fast & Furious franchise and becoming a household name.
But while Rodriguez has plenty of acting credits under her belt, most of them aren't kid-friendly – which is exactly why she signed up for Dungeons of Dragons.

"I think my biggest attraction was the idea of doing a movie that I could take my goddaughter to," she explained in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy.
"Like, a family-fun movie where I don’t have to worry about all the violence, because most of the movies I do are for teens or above.
"And so aside from Smurfs and Avatar, I’ve never really worked on anything that was for kids. So I was really happy about this."
Rodriguez's D&D co-star and former Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page went on to share his surprise over one of her previous roles, asking her: "Sorry, can I just clarify: you were a Smurf?"
"Yeah, I was a Smurf. Stormy," Rodriguez replied, adding: "I really would love to do more voiceovers, man. If you guys are out there, I’m all about the PJs, and going to work. So, like, voiceover world – holler!"
"I’m tracking down Smurf Michelle. I need this in my life," an amused Jean-Page continued, to which Rodriguez said: "Stormy Smurf – she was very stereotypical, but cute."

Rodriguez can next be seen reprising her role as Letty in Fast X this May, and she's teased that it's set to be the most jaw-dropping outing in the entire franchise.
"I think people are gonna be really, really surprised and we're gonna get a lot of open mouths at the end of Fast X. Let’s just put it that way," she said.
"It’s gonna be like, 'Really? What?' Like that! Like that's how I was in the theatre. I was like ‘Oh my god. What have we done?'
Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves is out in cinemas on March 31.
