While it’s sad that the Mazdaspeed brand has been resigned to the history books, there remains a Mazdaspeed6 out there that delivers truly insane levels of performance.

Featured in a recent video from That Racing Channel, the Mazdaspeed6 in question is the fastest of its kind on earth and is a sleeper in the truest sense. It’s not completely stock from the outside, but it’s not overdone either and there is a lot going on under the skin that allows this family sedan to out-accelerate many of the industry’s finest supercars.

The car’s owner built up the engine in his garage. It includes a bespoke bottom end, has been ported out, is running Manley pistons and rods, a custom head gasket, ARP head studs, enlarged valve springs, and new camshafts. Sitting at the back of the engine bay is a Precision 6466 turbocharger that runs 40psi of boost. Incredibly, the car is still rocking its stock transmission but has the shorter gear ratios from a Mazdaspeed3.

All up, the wild Mazda pumps out 809 hp at all four wheels and in this clip, is shown out-sprinting a modified Nissan GT-R, an 800 hp Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, and ProCharged C6 Corvette. Yes, this thing means serious business.

Interestingly, the owner says that he has run the car on 50psi of boost in the pursuit of even more power but doing so lifted the head, forcing him to dial things back a bit.
