Photographer Helmut Newton will be the subject of a major exhibition in A Coruña, Spain, sponsored by Marta Ortega Pérez, chairperson of Spanish fast fashion giant Inditex. Titled “Fact & Fiction,” the exhibition will explore the life of the late photographer, best known for provocative fashion imagery and sexually charged portraits that earned him the moniker “The King of Kink.”
Famous works, such as his “Big Nudes” and portraits of Margaret Thatcher, David Bowie and Yves Saint Laurent, will be displayed alongside lesser-known landscapes. The exhibition, which opens November 18, will be the third display of fashion photography presented by the Marta Ortega Pérez Foundation, which has previously staged shows examining Peter Lindbergh and Steven Meisel.
