Since their first Hollywood Hills West pad, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s homes have been pretty incredible. The power couple, who collaborated on the Quiet Place films, are red carpet regulars; this year, Blunt received her first-ever Oscar nomination for her role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, and Krasinski is set to kick off the summer with the release of A Quiet Place: Day One, the prequel to his two previous films, which he both wrote and directed. Their many talents are hardly limited to the screen, however. Blunt has admitted that she’d love to pursue her other passion—flipping houses—one day. “I adore renovating,” she told Vanity Fair in 2018. “I love working with different materials and coming up with a different story for each room. I am Pinterest-mad.” For now, though, it doesn’t seem like either of the pair is looking to give up their first love of movie-making just yet. Below we’re sharing a glimpse into some of the pair’s most picture-perfect properties.
Hollywood Hills West contemporary
Blunt and Krasinski met at a restaurant in Los Angeles while they were each out with friends back in 2008. They married in a private ceremony at George Clooney’s estate in Lake Como, Italy, two years later. Between those two pivotal moments, they shelled out $1.59 million for a stunning Hollywood Hills West contemporary that was the epitome of California cool. Measuring 4,800 square feet and situated on a 15,700-square-foot hillside lot, the five-bedroom abode consisted of clean angles and floor-to-ceiling windows, with a rooftop deck to boot. The couple reportedly added a pool and a third story to the residence over the years. Fans will also recall that this was the home that their then-neighbor, Jimmy Kimmel, covered in gift wrap as part of an ongoing Christmas prank war among the friends. They listed the home for $8 million in 2016 and sold it to Kendall Jenner for $6.5 million later that year.
Ojai retreat
After laying down roots in Hollywood, the pair had their eyes set on something a bit more removed from the bustle of Los Angeles. In 2012, they paid $2.15 million for a four-bedroom residence in Ojai, California, a stately Colonial-style spot that measured 4,177 square feet, set on an impressive 5.17-acre lot. The eco-friendly pad featured high ceilings, hardwood floors, four fireplaces (including one in the primary suite), and a private guest wing. Outdoor amenities included a pool, a firepit surrounded by built-in stone benches, a covered patio, a sports court, a vegetable garden, and unobstructed mountain views. The home was largely solar powered. Blunt and Krasinski listed the property for $4.25 million in 2016 and ultimately sold it for $2.4 million.
Hollywood Hills home
Two years after picking up the Ojai retreat, and just weeks after welcoming their first daughter, Blunt and Krasinski bought another Los Angeles home, this time a $2.575 million Hollywood Hills abode located just off the Sunset Strip. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence was originally built in 1965, and the couple reportedly spent much of the next two years renovating it. Measuring 3,500 square feet and situated at the end of a private cul-de-sac, the single-story rambler featured vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, an open-plan layout, a skylight in the kitchen, and a great room with a white brick wall fireplace. High hedges and large olive trees surrounded the lawn and a saltwater pool out back. The couple didn’t stay here long, however— as they made the move to Brooklyn in 2016, they listed and sold the home for $3.5 million.
Park Slope town house
Blunt found herself spending a lot more time on the east coast in 2015 when she was shooting The Girl on the Train. She told Vanity Fair that she started craving NYC’s faster pace of life, where she found herself “brushing past strangers on the street” in “a vibrant, bustling city where you don’t feel isolated.” Blunt and Krasinski picked up a $6 million town house in Park Slope the following year, and sank a reported $300,000 into renovations. Originally built in 1909, the town house boasted seven bedrooms and three full and one half bathrooms; the couple’s renovations preserved many of its original features, such as bay windows, fireplaces, and original wood flooring. Images of the home reveal entire walls of built-in bookshelves in the living room, a galley kitchen with skylights, and wood-beamed ceilings in the den. The couple ultimately found they weren’t spending much time at the home, however, and they flipped it back onto the market for $8 million in 2016. They sold it for $6.5 million two years later. “The house is so special,” Krasinski told The Wall Street Journal. “Someone who can spend every night there should have it.”
Brooklyn Heights apartment
Blunt and Krasinski weren’t ready to leave Brooklyn just yet, however. In late 2018, the couple dropped more than $11 million for two adjacent units in Brooklyn Height’s ultra-luxe Standish condo building. (Fellow A-lister Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, made headlines when they paid $16.745 million for a multi-floor penthouse unit in the same building, the most expensive Brooklyn sale ever at the time.) Details of the couple’s specific units are not readily available, but if the building’s amenities and aesthetic are any indication, their new abode is magnificent. The Standish’s site lists building materials for its luxury units including Italian marble kitchen countertops, Austrian white oak floorboards, and natural brass fixtures in both the kitchen and the bathrooms. The couple currently call this limestone-and-glass structure home.
