Miami, FL – April 13, 2024 – The Lotus Endowment Fund, supporting Miami’s largest homeless shelter for women, youth, and children, expands its board with the addition of philanthropist Gisele and attorney Javier Aviñó. The duo’s longstanding support aims to enhance shelter services and community impact. Gisele Bündchen, a Miami resident and advocate for women and children, recently donated $1 million for a new playground at The Children’s Village. Javier Aviñó, through his role at Bilzin Sumberg, has provided pro bono services to Lotus House Shelter for over a decade. Since opening its doors with 34 shelter beds in 2006, Lotus House has grown to serve more than 11,000 women, children, and youth. The Children’s Village, a new initiative, will pioneer a national model for preventing homelessness among families, emphasizing education and wellness for youth.
