The experimental evidence for the existence of chain paramagnetic Curie-type contribution to the temperature dependence of the normal (non-superconducting) state magnetic susceptibility χ (T) was obtained for pure high-Tc superconductors (HTSC) YBa2Cu3O6+δ series with different oxygen contents (0.6 < δ ≤ 1). It was shown that this contribution became clearly evident on curves χ (T) only at the temperature T < 150 K. It increases with the amount of oxygen vacancies increase in Cu1–O4 chains, and also depends on the way of the oxygen vacancies ordering.

The magnetization of the fine-grained high-temperature superconductor (HTSC) YBa2Cu3O y is experimentally investigated at T T c . A distinctive feature of this material is the increased oxygen content in CuOδ planes. The magnetization decrease with an increase in δ is revealed. This correlation indicates that during interplane oxygen redistribution, which is characteristic of fine-grained samples, the oxygen content in

The characteristics determining different contributions to the magnetic susceptibility at T > T C (Pauli susceptibility, coherence length at T = 0, and Curie constant) as functions of the degree of structural disorder have been analyzed for high-temperature superconducting YBa2Cu3O y samples ( y ≈ 6.92, T C ≈ 92 K) with micrometer and submicron average grain sizes D av. It is shown that the decrease in these characteristics, which is observed in fine-grained samples with a decrease in D av, occurs in various ways, depending on the number and type of oxygen vacancy ordering in chain planes.

The magnetic susceptibility of the normal-state YBa2Cu3O y high-temperature superconductor has been experimentally investigated as a function of the degree of structural disorder by the example of a series of fine-grained samples. Different coexisting contributions have been revealed and their origin was investigated. A correlation between the changes in the structural parameters and the magnitudes of these contributions to the magnetic susceptibility is established.

Changes in the behavior of the magnetization curves M(H) of fine-grained YBaCuO HTSC at temperatures near Tc are observed when the grain size D becomes comparable with the magnetic field penetration depth λ. The starting formation of the vortex structure in samples with the typical grain size D∼λ is considered theoretically within a model that accounts for the interaction of

The vibrational contribution μv(H) to the dynamic magnetic permeability μac′ is calculated with allowance for the spatial variation of the order parameter in the magnetic field region H≪Hc2, where the properties of type-II superconductors are usually described in the London approximation. The features of the behavior of the analytical relations μv(H) are analyzed for the case when the vortices execute small oscillations about their equilibrium positions corresponding to the thermodynamic-equilibrium vortex lattice. It is shown that taking into account the suppression of the order parameter in the vortex cores leads to substantial differences in the behavior of μv(H) in comparison with the analogous dependence obtained in the London approximation. It is found that the main factor responsible for these differences is a change in shape of the effective potential well in which the vibrational motion of the subsurface vortices takes place.
