Crayon Shin-chan The Movie Chonoryoku Dai Kessen: Tobetobe Temakizushi (New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie Super-Powered Climactic Battle: Soaring Hand-Rolled Sushi), the film will be released in Japan on August 4, 2023 (via AnimeNewsNetwork).

In the film, a white light from outer space descends and takes control of Shin-chan's body, giving him some mysterious power that he hilariously wields with his signature buttock-based humour, characteristic of the series. Simultaneously, another man obtains psychic abilities after being exposed to a black light and becomes determined to destroy the world. Shirogumi, the company behind the 3D film Stand by Me Doraemon, is also involved in the production of the Shin-chan film.

This will be the 31st film in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise. According to the film's website, Tori Matsuzaka joins the cast as Mitsuru Hiriya. Mogura Suzuki takes on the role of Professor Ikebukuro, while Katamari Mizukawa, portrays Nusuttoradamus II. The latter two are part of the comedy duo Kuuki Kaidan. Lastly, Akari Kito lends her voice to the character of Negiko Shintani.
