Star Wars and adidas Originals are continuing a prolific partnership with a new Lando Calrissian-themed NMD R1 V2. Following in the footsteps of a Luke Skywalker-inspired Stan Smith and a Stormtrooper-style NMD R1, this colorful lifestyle silhouette pays homage to the Star Wars universe’s most suave smuggler.

What separates the V2 from the original NMD R1 is its layered, multi-piece upper. Here, these pieces are split between black and light sky blue, the latter of which may be a nod to Lando’s residence in Cloud City. Meanwhile, tongues and throats handle the lion’s share of the detailing. Beefy gold lace deubres spell out Star Wars, gold NMD graphics are stamped above the toebox, a black leather sheath with a debossed pattern covers the laces and Lando’s visage graces the tongue by way of a sizable black and gold patch.

Heels take on a light blue shade, with tabs equipping regal gold thread. Collar lining is done up in gold as well, and the inside of the tongue features its own patch that nods to the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. White BOOST midsoles with blue and black bricks round off the look.

The Star Wars x adidas Originals NMD R1 V2 “Lando Calrissian” will release via adidas UK on September 17, and is priced at £140 GBP (approximately $183 USD).

Elsewhere in the world of the Three Stripes, size? has collaborated with adidas Originals for a new BC Trainer “Summer Holidays” collection.
