Ahead of the holidays, searches for “Uggs with bows” increased by 150 percent on Tuesday, according to the latest Google Newsletter. The surge in interest follows Ugg’s Monday post on Instagram, showing a pair of Ugg boots embellished with festive bows. “The UGG bowification continues,” the brand captioned.
On TikTok, many influencers are sharing DIY videos showing how to add bows to their Ugg boots. The hashtag #uggswithbows has garnered over 361.8k views, backing the trending style’s popularity. Videos under this tag often include influencers with silky ribbons tying bows to the pull tabs on many of Ugg’s shorter Mini styles like the Ultra Mini and the Ultra Mini Platform boots.
In a video posted by @raineluvsrain, the influencer shared a variety of ways to style Ugg’s bow-equipped boots, coupling them with cozy knitwear and denim. Another popular video posted by @kawaiimin detailed how to fasten bows to your Uggs. The influencer demoed the DIY on a pair of Ultra Mini boots in “Chestnut” and fastened pink ribbon to the pull tabs on the heels of the shoes. Similarly, TikToker @megarroni fastened pink satin bows to a pair of taller Ugg boots, also in “Chestnut.”
Taking on the holiday spirit, Ugg boots with bows can also be linked to the ever-popular balletcore trend, that pertains to all things ballet, including tutus, tights, ballet flats and, of course, bows, among other things.
The balletcore trend could signify a desire for softer silhouettes fitted with dainty adornments, allowing the wearer to express themselves more femininely.
Ugg also offers a series of styles embellished with bow, including the Bailey Bow boot. The bow-laden silhouette has different variations, like the Bailey Bow II, the Mini Bailey Bow II, the Bailey Bow Tall II and the Classic Heritage Bow boot.
