The 39-year-old actress suffered from stuttering in her childhood. According to The Devil Wears Prada star, it was a hereditary problem and it caused a lot of trouble for her until she got into acting. Emily Blunt confessed how everyone around her initially thought that she was too tense to speak. But the case was not that.

The actress’ life began to turn around when she was 12 years old and was advised by her class teacher to take part in the class play. Surprisingly, the advice to act in a “silly voice” helped her to attain fluency and gradually helped her to speak properly. Eventually, it led her to do another play at her boarding school which went to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and caught the attention of a fellow teacher. As Emily Blunt said:

“But then I did a play at boarding school that went to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. There was a teacher who was in it with me. He called his agent and said, ‘You’ve got to come see this girl.'”

Following that, young Blunt appeared in many auditions and focused more on acting which ultimately led her to become a big name in the industry. The actress even agreed that her stuttering helped her a lot in her career- “It was the making of me in many ways”.

The movie will unveil the illegal deeds of a pharmaceutical company.

Emily Blunt will also be seen in the 2024 David Leitch action directorial The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Winston Duke.

Oppenheimer will be released on July 21, 2023, while Pain Hustlers is set to hit Netflix on October 27, 2023.
