'Arrow' casts Colton Haynes of 'Teen Wolf'

Colton Haynes may have left Teen Wolf behind him, but he’s moving on to greener pastures.

EW has confirmed that the actor will recur on CW’s Arrow, playing Roy Harper, who according to comic lore, eventually becomes Green Arrow’s sidekick, Speedy.

The news may confuse Arrow fans who recall it being previously established on the series that Thea (Willa Holland) once carried the nickname “Speedy.” It’s now unclear which of the two will eventually stand beside the hooded hero. (Will they both? Will he steal her nickname?)

What we do know about Harper in the Arrow-verse is that the street-smart teen grew up in an impoverished part of Starling City and will cross paths with Thea “in an unexpected way,” according to casting scoop. Additionally, the character description claims Thea falls for the boy (love interest alert!) “not knowing he is destined to become a significant part of her life, and an important player in the larger world of Arrow.”
