Landonis Balthazar Calrissian, also known as "Lando" Calrissian, was a human male smuggler, gambler, and card player who became Baron Administrator of Cloud City and, later, a general in the Rebel Alliance.

Fans met Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) in The Empire Strikes Back (1980). He is introduced as an old friend of Han Solo. Solo won his ship, The Millenium Falcon, from Calrissian in a card game. Lando eventually betrays the heroes but redeems himself by helping them to escape and joining the resistance.

In Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), a younger Lando is played by Donald Glover. The movie follows Han Solo and Lando as they steal a load of starship fuel. During the heist, Lando seems to flirt with Solo, and it is certainly implied that he is attracted to men, women, and droids. The older version played by Billy Dee Williams is featured again after 40 years in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

Later, cowriters Jonathan Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan confirmed that Lando was not straight. Jonathan Kasdan said,

There’s a fluidity to Donald and Billy Dee’s [portrayal of Lando’s] sexuality... I mean, I would have loved to have gotten a more explicitly LGBT character into this movie. I think it’s time, certainly, for that, and I love the fluidity ― sort of the spectrum of sexuality that Donald appeals to and that droids are a part of.
