Description

Battle Chess is a quite typical chess game, but it comes with a twist: all pieces are represented by small, realistic figures that walk around on the chessboard, and when one piece takes another, they both take part in an animated battle. There is a different animation for each permutation, depending on which pieces are capturing or being captured. You can also play in 2D without animation.

The game's opening library includes 30,000 different moves, ensuring a variety of games will unfold across the 10 skill levels.

Multi-player support can be extended to modem and/or serial port play.

Subject: Strange game, works well

AI cheated though xD did 3 moves in a row without letting me do any counter. Queen went in, killed a pawn, a bishop and went right for my king without me being allowed to move.

Guess its has some bugs xD

Subject: blast from the past

I remember having this game a long time ago. It was fun to play against it although the 3-D aspect made it hard to follow the game so I played on a real chess board.

Not sure if it had multiple skill setting which would have been nice.

Subject: Great game but such buggy emulation

When bishop and queen start walking, the game almost freezes. And when a knight started to fight another knight, the game crashed and exited to DOS with fatal error "integer divided by zero".

Subject: Trivia:

"Silicon & Synapse" would later change their name to their MUCH more recognizable "Blizzard Entertainment" name.

Probably the only Blizz game you'll find on here too.

Subject: Bishops and queens move extremely slowly

I don't know if it's just me - but the bishop and queen moving starts off ok for the first space but then slows down to an absolutely crawl, makes the game almost pointless using. Anyone else experiencing this ? I've tried Firefox, Chrome & MS Edge..
